India Lies in You, an SSIMS student's initiative is held every year. In its first edition, the movie "Swades" was screened. Held at NIO on the 4th of April, 2008, it met with unexpected success given the unique nature of the event and the relatively unknown entity that was organizing it. The latter part of the day saw an animated panel discussion that attempted to identify ways and means one could employ to bring about a change in society. Panelists included Mr. Gaurav Kwatra.
In its second avatar, the event was conceptualized around the attitudes that Indians should have so that genuine change actually materialized. The event was held over two days and this time it was closer to home - at Ravindra Bhawan, Margao. The first day saw a theatrical presentation depicting the theme and continued with a short-clippings competition. On the second day, the movie "A Wednesday" was screened and the panel discussion around the theme of the event was held.
